Breezy Hill Water and Sewer Company serves a 35 mile radius including Granit eville Clearwater and North Augusta. Residents receive notices by mail and must follow rotation watering days to conserve supplies. Salley officials also urge a voluntary outdoor ban and urge car washing stoppage to preserve water.
The Augusta Clogging Company, a 20 year old group with members aged three to 30, performs tonight at Hopelands Gardens as part of the Summer Concert Series. The show starts at 7 p.m., with handicap parking at Dupree Place and general parking at Rye Patch on Berrie Road. Bring a picnic, a lawn chair or blanket. alcohol is prohibited. Aiken County Habitat for Humanity dedicated its latest home at 1364 Representative Drive in Kennedy Colony on Aiken's north side. Sponsored by First Baptist Church and the Rotary Club of Aiken, owner Thanda Anderson expressed joy at owning the house. Mayor Pro Tem Lessie Price praised the community effort and Habitat's impact, noting the shared spirit of care in Aiken.

New Orleans marks the opening of the National Day Museum honoring living World War II veterans. Stephen Ambrose founded the museum to recount the war from Normandy to the Pacific, with emphasis on landing boats and the generation aging toward departure. About 6 million of the 16 million who served are alive, fading at roughly 1,000 per day, and the ceremony is expected to gather up to 10,000 World War I veterans as the nation reflects on forgotten sacrifice.
