South Carolina Senate backs tougher DUI standards
The South Carolina Senate approved a compromise bill to tighten drunken driving laws, potentially automatic license loss for certain underage and high BAC offenses. House members gave preliminary approval and may pass after judicial elections, with a governor veto possible. The measure keeps 0.10 percent as the jurors’ inference threshold while lowering other BAC limits and linking changes to a 2000 minibottle referendum.
