Tornado Warnings Lifted After Storm Strikes Aiken Edgefield
A thunderstorm swept through Aiken and Edgefield counties with a funnel cloud spotted but no touchdown reported. Tornado warnings were issued. power outages affected about 5,000 in Aiken with outages also in Graniteville and Windsor. Local residents, including Amy Ryles, endured a frightening close call four weeks after a mobile home was wrecked and a neighbor killed.

The Senate Appropriations Committee cleared 1.46 billion in extra funds for the Savannah River Site.
