Elsie Cofer 64 mother of Dr. Tom W. Cofer of Aiken died Friday in a McDuffie County hospital. Graveside services were held at Phillips Mill Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Stanley Hahn and Rev. Blonze Sanders officiated. A native of Sandwich Massachusetts she lived in Thomson 32 years. A registered nurse she headed the McDuffie County Health Department and belonged to First Baptist Church Hope Sunday School and the Thomson Eastern Star chapter. Harvard Nursing School graduate. Survivors include son Robert H. Cofer Thomson. Pallbearers: Robert H. Cofer Tom W. Cofer Mercer Miller Bob Evans Wendell Cofer J D. Dunaway. M W Callaway and Sons Funeral Home in charge.
