Boulton Named Agent in Charge of Aiken Probation Office
Marie Boulton has been appointed to direct the Aiken County office of the SCDPPPS replacing Mitchell Ray who moves to Charleston County. Boulton, with the department since 1989, has held multiple roles including agent and supervisor in Aiken and Barnwell counties and served in Hawaii with the Specialized Sex Offender Unit. On May 27 North Augusta Public Safety responded to a burglary at 1963 Bunting Drive and seized 20 marijuana plants with growing supplies. Lt. Tim Pearson said the investigation tied Lane Alexander Speers to maintaining the residence on Bunting Drive and related property.

Copper theft at Aiken cell tower substation reported
Copper grounding bars stolen from a cellular phone tower substation on Asphalt Plant Drive between late March and June 2. The lock remained intact as deputies investigate who had the combination. A GPS unit was stolen from a vehicle on Champagne Drive with no forced entry. A welding machine was stolen from an Old Jackson Highway business after fencing was cut.
