Mrs Ernest Ema Garvin Richardson 89 died yesterday at an Aiken County hospital. Funeral at Wagener First Baptist Church with Rev. Hampton Perry and Rev. Jenning Duncan officiating. Burial in Wagener Cemetery. She was a native of Aiken County, daughter of Emanuel and Laura Garvin, member of Wagener First Baptist Church and Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 38 where she served as secretary for many years.

James Edward Derrick of 121 Railroad Street was found hanged at his Bath home around 1 a.m. by authorities from the Aiken County Sheriff's Department. No foul play is suspected in the death.

Willie McKnight, 49, of Sumter, died after the dump truck bed touched a 7,200 volt power line while delivering grain to McElmurray Farms in Dalzell. The line surge burned him as the ground point. Coroner John Stoll ruled the death accidental. an early report misstated his occupation.
