County Council Votes to Amend Hospital Ordinance Language

The County Council unanimously amended language in the hospital ordinance before a third reading. Speakers Laura Baugell Diane Carrell and Mandy Drumming supported preserving the brick hospital structure. Officials said the county sale affects city plans as the county has no standing in city decisions after selling the building. A prior deal to sell the hospital for 1.1 million to The Mation Group and then to WTC Investments fell through. The council also approved the second reading of the county budget for fiscal year 2021 with a third reading set for June 18.
