Teachers and students honored in Aiken County dinner
The Aiken County Public Schools and Security Federal Bank honored 61 retiring teachers and 51 high achieving students at a Tuesday evening ceremony. Superintendent Dr. Linda B. Eldridge said the second annual dinner paired retirees with top students to highlight collaboration and achievement.

Two Juveniles Ordered For Evaluation In Bomb Threat Incident
Two 13 year olds accused of painting a bomb threat at Byrd Elementary were ordered into mandatory evaluation by Family Court Judge Peter Nuessle after a hearing. Assistant Solicitor Frank Young said they were transported to the Department of Juvenile Justice for up to 45 days following custody by the Aiken County Sheriff's Office. The threat surfaced after janitors found "Bomb in School" on a wall and a bus was vandalized nearby.
