Washington AP reports a federal NIH funded survey finds four of five single American women in their 20s have had sex with one third pregnant at least once and 40 percent of first pregnancies aborted. The study led by Korny Tanner was to be presented to an advisory panel.

Six Nuns Perish in Dublin Convent Fire
A fire in a central Dublin convent building killed six Loreto nuns as they slept in a top-floor dormitory of a four story school. Fifteen nuns escaped unharmed, and eight engines fought the blaze for over two hours. Police noted no immediate cause and said twelve nuns in an adjacent dormitory also slept through the danger.
