Fewer beach water advisories on South Carolina coast
The Natural Resources Defense Council reports 18 beach advisories totaling 36 days in 2008 down from 108 in 2007 and 684 in 2006 across 63 beaches. Reduced advisories stem from dry weather and better stormwater controls, with warnings tied to runoff and erosion concerns along Horry and Beaufort counties.
