Radioactive Elements Detected in Jackson and Perry Wells

The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control found higher than expected radium in Jackson and Perry wells in Aiken County serving about 5,000 people. State agencies raise fees to cover budget cuts in South Carolina

South Carolina agencies set higher charges as a stopgap for budget cuts. The Market Bulletin will cost $10 annually, a deputy revenue letter of compliance will be $85, and the Public Safety Department will raise fees for reinstating suspended licenses and for title searches and accident reports.
