Man Tried To Eat Crack Cocaine In Traffic Stop

Aiken County jury convict ed Trevis Eugene Johnson 24 of Graniteville on possession of crack cocaine. Judge Rodney Peeples sentenced him to 10 years. Deputy Andy Cerminara testified Johnson bent, grabbed a bag from the car hood with his teeth, fought back, and was bitten during the struggle as the bag containing two racks of cocaine and money was recovered.

Mace eludes capture in South Carolina border chase

Travis Mace, an escapee from the Aiken County Detention Center, remained at large after a high speed pursuit from South Carolina into Georgia. Jennifer Lyn Withrow, his ex-girlfriend, was arrested for obstruction of justice and described as a victim by her family. Patrick Webber, 20, was also charged with assisting in the escape.
