Georgia Power finalizes Vogtle expansion service deal
Georgia Power secures a new service agreement with Westinghouse for the Vogtle nuclear expansion, with Southern Nuclear overseeing construction. The pact covers engineering procurement and licensing support, access to Westinghouse IP, and a transition of project management roles for Georgia Power and Southern Nuclear staff. Co owners Oglethorpe Power MEAG Power and Dalton Utilities continue joint planning for schedule and cost. Progress in recent weeks includes concrete placement in Unit 3 shield building, steel work for Unit 4 annex, and installation of accumulator tanks in Unit 3 containment.
