Barry Bodyguard Reassigned After Testimony On Drug Use

Barry bodyguard James Stays, a two year police veteran, was reassigned to an administrative post as internal police probe begins into alleged cocaine use or cover up by mayoral security. Government witness Delois Mise testified Stays and Barry used cocaine at a 1985 cookout in Maryland, while Stays denied drug use and said he did not see drugs on a 1986 Virgin Islands trip. Prosecutors presented records suggesting another defense witness lied about obtaining a job application from a cocaine dealer. Trial proceeds with prosecutors’ rebuttal looming and jury selection already complete.
