Memorial honors South Carolina Highway Patrol officers fallen in line
A ceremony at the Department of Public Safety marked a monument for SC Highway Patrol troopers who died on duty since 1930. The names include Ralph McCracken 1931 and Kevin Cusack 2010. Megan Rae and her grandmother Lois attended with family photos and reflections on the dangers of the job. The memorial stemmed from Trooper Bob Beres' 2010 effort funding through a 24 hour run and donations from supporters statewide.
