Salamanders of the Southeast book arrives with field notes
The Savannah River Ecology Lab's Whit Gibbons co authors with Joe Mitchell on Salamanders of the Southeast a field guide in the Southeast series. The soft cover book from University of Georgia Press features over 100 salamander species in the region including more than 40 in South Carolina. Gibbons discusses their secretive moist habits and night activity. A Sept 14 Birds & Butterflies Nature Series talk and book signing at Rose Hill Estate is set with a 20 admission.

Norm Coleman will portray Ty Cobb in The Greatest Player That Ever Played the Game at the Aiken County Historical Museum. Edgefield Theatre sets auditions for two one act plays
Edgefield County Theatre Company announces auditions for August 7 and 8 at 3 p.m. at the Edgefield Historical Society Discovery Center. The premiere weekend is October 2 at 8 p.m. and October 3 at 3 p.m. No experience needed all cast must commit to eight weeks of rehearsals starting August 12.
