The 2015 Blue Night events include a 5K run a 1 mile fun run and a walk at Citizens Park on Friday August 14. Registration for the 5K is 25 before August 7 and 30 after with the fun run 10 before August 7 and 15 after. Early packet pickup August 13 at Academy Sports. Multiple incidents reported by Aiken County Sheriff's Office
Aiken residents reported loss of a firearm from a vehicle on Residence Drive and a vandalism attack on Silver Bluff Road in Beech Island. A Pelton man said a New Ellenton man tried to pin him against a wall at a Wagoner Road bar. the suspect was intoxicated and had a gun, but no charges filed. Other reports include vehicle damage from rocks on Pipeline Road, a broken rear window on Celeste Mobile Home Park Circle, a bar confrontation with cellphone theft, a home entry on Main Street, a disturbance on Bethcar Church Road, a scam involving a Warrenville resident’s mother sending about 12000, and a stolen vehicle on Freeman Street near Joel Park Road. Local authorities filed trespass notices and noted no charges in some cases.
