Splash Down ends Summer Reading Program at Aiken library

The Aiken County Public Library capped its Summer Reading Program with a Splash Down Party. A sewer hose showered attendees as Sgt. CE Jordan from Aiken Public Safety guarded the event on a 96 degree day. About 200 to 300 readers have completed the program this year.

DOE Faces Questions Over MOX Plan For Surplus Plutonium

Wal Mart to stop firearm sales at some stores

Wal Mart plans to discontinue firearm sales at about one third of its US locations including the Whiskey Road Aiken store. Spokeswoman Jolanda Stewart said decisions reflect local customer demand and that ammunition and accessories will continue to be stocked where there is sufficient demand.
