Fest weekend brings youth volunteers to Aiken
Durrah coordinates with Youth Against Drugs and Alcohol guiding about 25 teens who mentored younger kids this summer. Charmayne Henry, an Aiken High junior and YADA volunteer, joined a Myrtle Beach conference to learn drug prevention using pamphlets and vivid tobacco imagery. Face painting was provided by the Children's Evangelical Fellowship, linked to the Columbia Midlands mission effort. The Smith Hazel senior citizens choir closed the morning session of July Fest with Catherine Hicks, this year’s senior queen, joining the group. Contact Rob Novit at movit aikenstandard.com.
