South Carolina’s unemployment rate climbed to 9.4 percent in June, marking the second straight monthly rise. May’s 9.1 percent rate had been the first increase in 10 months. Three arrested in death of Hanahan man
Police in Hanahan report three arrests in the death of 71 year old Roy Bennett found Sunday at his home. Robert Randolph Clark 39 Robert Andrew McFadden 24 and Brittany Lynn Swanger 24 are charged with murder. Bennett died during a suspected robbery. McFadden was seen abandoning Bennett's pickup on store surveillance. Autopsy did not reveal a cause of death. Suspects held at Berkeley County jail awaiting lawyers.
