County Man Convicted For Fourth DUI Offense

An Aiken County man, Larry Ray Sheppard, was found guilty in General Sessions Court of his fourth DUI offense. Judge Dan F. Laney Jr. sentenced him to four years and a $3,000 fine, suspended on one year of service with five years probation, and revoked remaining probation on prior offenses. He will serve an additional nine months, totaling 21 months in custody.

County Expects Waiver To Avoid Paying Hill Burton Funds

Aiken County officials expect not to repay 106000 in Hill Burton federal funds used for the 1930s Aiken County Hospital.
