Dorcey Lybrand Former South Carolina Senator Dies at 70
Dorcey Lybrand longtime Aiken civic leader and former state senator died of a heart attack at 5:30 a.m. at Aiken Community Hospital. He was 70 and had retired from law in 1973. Lybrand served in the Senate 1949-1952 and 1957-1960, helped found the United Fund in Aiken County, and was active in Rotary, Chamber of Commerce and the County Bar. Surviving are a daughter Christian Lybrand a brother and a sister. Funeral arrangements are by George Funeral Home.
