Former Aiken officer pled guilty in sex abuse case
George A. Demedicis 54 admitted two counts of sexual assault on a minor female and faces 15 years plus a 10 year concurrent term. The ex officer who served from 1976 1989 and later worked as a firefighter EM T at Savannah River Site was arrested in January. The victim mother uncovered a diary detailing weekly assaults dating to when the girl was about 10, with six years of offenses.

Robber hits two Aiken area hotels in 10 minutes
A man claiming a gun robbed the Hampton Inn on Whiskey Road and tried the American Hearth Inn on Richland Ave within ten minutes Friday night.
