Diorama project redraws historic depots and towns
Barnes with Henry Krippner visited towns from 1916 to document buildings and depots for a diorama. They used Sanborn maps, Library of Congress, and National Archives data, measured foundations, and chose color from resident memories. The model depicts towns including Charleston and Hamburg with a 30 to 35 mph train, about three and a half minutes.

Caddisflies Thrive In Pristine UTRC Stream Study
McArthur reports that caddisfly richness and diversity in Upper Three Runs Creek match or exceed levels from 30 years ago. He notes the site has avoided environmental harm from operations and development in Aiken County. Further identifications of stoneflies and mayflies are planned with a possible follow up in 5 to 10 years, contingent on stewardship.
