Foster parents needed as county faces child welfare gaps
Carrol Busbee of Aiken Public Safety spoke to the Sunrise Rotary Club about foster care needs in Aiken County. He and his wife Rosemary have cared for Cathy, a former abuse survivor now thriving after post traumatic syndrome treatment. DSS reports 287 children in custody with only 36 licensed foster families, prompting out-of-county placements.

Ex Edgefield Auditor Pleads Guilty to Official Misconduct
Wendy Kneece former Edgefield County auditor pleaded guilty to official misconduct and marijuana with intent to distribute. She admitted buying marijuana and a meth like substance on May 9 at the Edgefield County Courthouse. Sentencing set for the week of July 24.
