SRS Softball Tournament Boosts United Way Donations in 11th Year
Savannah River Site workers, contractors, and United Way volunteers hosted the 11th annual SRS Softball Tournament at Citizens Park to raise funds for United Way agencies. Over $24,000 was raised through team fundraising, a home run derby, and concessions, with 30 plus volunteers staffing and officiating. Agencies like Aiken Youth Development Center benefit, using funds for sports equipment tutoring and snacks as organizer Eric Schiefer notes the event’s strong turnout despite weather.
