FAA orders cockpit window heater inspection for Boeing jets
The FAA plans a safety order to inspect 1212 Boeing 757 767 and 777 cockpits for heater issues and require window replacements if damaged. The rule may include 747s later. airlines may choose new or similar design windows with regular inspections. The move follows inflight fires and arcing linked to loose screws at heater connections.
