Knotts moves to qualify for ballot against Sanford
West Columbia Senate candidate Jake Knotts began signature collection to reach the 10 000 voter threshold and file with the state Elections Commission by July 17. Knotts, a former House member, has clashed with Governor Mark Sanford and plans petitions in West Columbia Giller and Pelion with supporters sent to the Lowcountry. The other candidate is Democrat Senator Tommy Moore of Clearwater.
