Former Klan leader denies involvement in church fires
Former Clarendon County Ku Klux Klan leader Luther Haley rejects Klan involvement in the Macedonia Baptist Church fire in Bloomville and says three local men including two Black men paid one arsonist to burn the church. He claims the incident was a setup and notes no racial motive. The case ties to arson charges against Gary Cox and Timothy Welch and a related Mt Zion AME church fire.
