No TV for Miss S C pageant again

The Miss South Carolina pageant again will not be televised due to a smaller venue. Renovations moved the event to Twichell Auditorium in Spartanburg, reducing seating by more than half and requiring space for cameras. The 10 finalists compete Saturday at 9 p.m. Wendy Willis is last year’s winner.

Plan floated to halt Bundrick Island development on Lake Murray

Business leaders push to keep Bundrick Island undeveloped by urging Ayke owner SCE&G to donate or sell the 90 acre site to a land trust. The peninsula near the dam hosts Sandy Beach, a popular year round gathering spot, and neighbors have thwarted three prior development plans. Robbie Wilkins urges a land trust to preserve the waterfront.
