Pence Meets Court Contenders as Trump Weighs Picks
Vice President Mike Pence has met with Supreme Court contenders amid Trump’s search to fill Justice Kennedy’s vacancy. Trump has spoken with seven candidates from a vetted list of 25, with top contenders including Brett Kavanaugh, Raymond Kethledge, Amul Thapar, Amy Coney Barrett, Thomas Hardiman, Joan Larsen, and others. The choice, seen as potentially reshaping the court for a generation, faces opposition from Democrats while conservatives highlight Barrett and other jurists as ideal leanings.
