Aiken County Council Rehires Killian as Contract Employee
In a unanimous vote the Aiken County Council approved bringing back Clay Killian as a contract employee after a brief retirement. Killian will be paid about 14,900 a month, saving costs while leveraging his TERI benefits. Council chair Gary Banker said the move is a win win for the county and Killian. Willar Hightower was absent.

Teens win national high school bass title on Tennessee River
Chad Champy and Kyler McKie of North Augusta Fishing Team won the national high school bass championship on the Tennessee River after a three day haul of 57 pounds 10 ounces. The Fox Creek seniors averaged over four pounds per bass and clinched the title among 232 teams in Florence Alabama. Their top catch was a 7 pound 13 ounce largemouth. The victory caps a season that began with a first place in South Carolina state finals.
