In Biscayne Florida AP report Nixon’s doctor says a permanent blood clot in his left leg was affecting his travel risk but now is "the danger is past." Dr Walter Tkach says thrombophlebitis is present and the clot is fixed to a vein wall, unlikely to reach heart or lungs.
CBS says special Watergate prosecutor Leon Jaworski is probing Hubert Humphrey campaign finances for 1968 and 1972. Investigators reportedly focus on dairy-industry contributions to the Minnesota Democrat from Jaworski's office sources.
The prosecution nears the end of its case against John Ehrlichman and three others charged with plotting an illegal 1971 entry into Dr. Lewis Fielding's Beverly Hills office. Ehrlichman plans to testify to justify White House approval of a CIA style operation. Gordon Liddy is expected to stay silent.
John Young, a former prisoner of war, spoke with Viet Cong and North Vietnamese flags nearby and the White House in the background. He thanked Americans who protested the war at a Thursday rally drawing about 1,700 people organized by Vietnam Veterans Against the War Winter Soldier Organization.

A Belvedere woman, Lola M. Martin, leaped from a second floor window to escape a kitchen fire at 708 Kershaw St. The blaze, first reported at 1:24 a.m., destroyed the tri level home up for sale with about 30000 in damages. Firemen and 17 volunteers fought the fire. cause under investigation.

An 18 year old New Holland youth, Freddie Baughman Jr., was arrested in Aiken and charged with housebreaking grand larceny and auto theft tied to the Palace Meat Market break in. Police recovered part of the loot and the refrigerated van abandoned on Highway 1 near Wildwood Lake Road.
