Statue of Liberty to get a new torch on July 4 1985
The torch on the Statue of Liberty will be lowered today and a new lamp installed on July 4 1985. The 140 ton torch will be displayed at the Museum of Immigration in Liberty Island. Restoration costs run about $230 million with $100 million raised to date.

The Aiken County Council backed a city county study of drainage from Edisto Avenue and Kalmia Hill after a Wise Hollow basin review.
