Safe Independence Day tips for families pets and displays
Practical guidance from the CPSC on fireworks safety and pet comfort. Adults should light fireworks only, keep a water source ready, and avoid brown paper packaging. Sparklers require supervision, maintain distance, and never relight duds. For pets, keep indoors, close windows, create white noise, walk beforehand, and consider vet advice for sedation if needed. Public events include SRP Park July 3 and Augusta Common July 4 fireworks after game and live entertainment.
