Cory Brown, 31, charged with attempted murder and weapons during a violent crime in a June 5 shooting at Pacer Park Lane. Aiken County Sheriff Capt. Eric Abdullah said Brown was arrested earlier Wednesday. A man was hospitalized with multiple gunshot wounds. warrants issued for Brown on June 23.
Melissa White, 28, was arrested by Aiken County deputies on Martin Tuesday morning after a traffic stop on S C Highway 125. Police report a nervous demeanor and strong alcohol odor. A search found white powder and crystallike powder in a bag under the driver's seat. White faced charges of possessing methamphetamine with intent to distribute and was later released from the Aiken County detention center.

No injuries reported after a fire at Fowler Towing and Recovery on Atomic Road Wednesday afternoon. The blaze began at 3 58 p m and responders arrived at 4 10 p m as chemicals in the building exploded. The fire was under control after about an hour and a half, with investigators still determining the cause.
Aiken and surrounding areas report numerous incidents including home break-ins on Chime Bell Church Road Windsor Road and Windsor Road. Vehicles stolen on Gooseneck Road Ced ar Road Audubon Circle Colonial Drive Hillview Drive and Laurens Street. A Clearwater business had cars broken into and a work vehicle damaged. An employee at a Richland Avenue store confronted by three off duty workers and a burglary on Sumter Street were reported. A chain link fence on Dillon Avenue was damaged.
