Aiken man charged in Aldrich Street shooting incident
Deandre Tyree Gaiters, 22, faces three counts of murder along with discharging a firearm into a dwelling and possession of a firearm during a violent crime after a July shooting at a 600 block Aldrich Street apartment. Witnesses identified him in a photo lineup. he was arrested Monday and held at the Aiken County jail.

New York man pleads guilty in Aiken County to minor sexual exploitation
Adam Wheeler, 22, of Fulton, New York, pled guilty to four counts of sexual exploitation of a minor and obscenity charges. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison with credit for time served after prosecutors said he solicited and sent explicit material from 2015. Wheeler was extradited from New York after his May 2016 arrest. FBI helped with the case.

Woman charged in Virginia murder conspiracy
Teniya Rennae Cushman, 22, a former Aiken County resident and Silver Bluff High School alumnae, is charged with conspiracy to commit second degree murder in a New Year’s Eve killing in Norfolk Virginia. Police say she conspired with 70 year old Edward Shaw to murder teacher Caroline Hendrix. Shaw is charged with second degree murder. Cushman was arrested January 23 in Virginia while appearing in court on a separate concealed weapons case.
