Aiken honors preservation efforts and notable historical figures
The Historic Aiken Foundation recognized stewards and projects in the city. Awards celebrated the Palmer family gravesite efforts, Palmetto Golf Club legacy, Rye Patch stables transformation into a small museum, and several private homes. Local figures like Henry Ravenel and James M Legare noted among interred pioneers. Historic bridges and transportation projects also highlighted.
