Aiken County to review challenged biology textbooks
The Aiken County School District will form a 17 member panel of teachers parents and community members to review biology texts challenged by a local resident. Dr Frank Roberson says the panel includes educators and scientists and a recommendation to the Board of Education is expected by the February 28 meeting.

Edgefield man jailed for SRP Federal Credit Union robbery
Bruce Charles Easley, 46, was sentenced to 46 months in federal prison in Columbia for robbing the SRP Federal Credit Union on West Martintown Road in North Augusta last March. He handed a teller a demand note at about 10:30 a.m. and fled with 1750 dollars after a joint FBI and North Augusta Public Safety probe tied to fingerprint and video evidence.
