Woman to plead guilty to assisted death by own action
Carol Carr a 63 year old Georgia woman who fatally shot her two terminally ill sons will plead guilty to assisted death by her own action under a plea agreement five years in prison pending sentencing. The case stems from the June 8 killings at a Griffin nursing home of Michael Scott 42 and Andy Lot both Huntington's disease patients. Their father died from the disease. Carr's surviving son James Scott 38 also has Huntington's disease. Georgia's 1994 law banning assisted death by own action has been rarely used with only three prior applications.
