Aiken County Administrator William Shepherd urged freezing the top five roads on a priority list to help paving. Government Services selects Aiken for new HQ
Morrison Knudsen Westinghouse Government Services Group will locate its corporate headquarters on Newberry Street in downtown Aiken at the vacant Twin Mark and Whittle Building. The move, tied to the Westinghouse Savannah River Site legacy, is expected to boost downtown redevelopment, add jobs, and expand regional economic activity with 14,500 employees and $24 billion in contracts nationwide. Governor Hodges and Commerce official Charles Way joined MK and city leaders for the announcement.
