Stumphouse Tunnel Closes Permanently
WALHALLA AP The historic Stumphouse Tunnel closed since a July ceiling collapse will be permanently sealed off. Park officials cited risk of further collapses and repair costs. The tunnel, built as part of the 1830s Blue Ridge Railroad project, is over 130 years old and will be sealed while the park remains open.
