Enron losses hit big money managers and Florida fund
As Enron collapsed, major money management firms and pension funds faced steep losses from Enron stock buys through mid November. Alliance Capital faced lawsuits and Florida sued while the fund giant’s purchases, including 50 buys at up to 82.73 a share, totaled 43 million shares. The stock later fell to 28 cents as bankruptcy landed.
