Self surrender comes in six charged in Augusta teen murder
Alexander Hunsberger, 23, of Trenton, turned himself in to Edgefield authorities as one of six suspects in the murder of 16 year old Samuel Sturrup of Augusta. The group allegedly assaulted, beat, then forced Sturrup into a car and shot him near Community Road after a dispute over missing money. Other defendants include Julio Angelo Hunsberger, Steven Louis Barnes, Charlene Ann Thatcher, Richard Martes Cave, and Antonio Dewayne Griffen, all Augusta residents. Investigators link the case to arrests in an Augusta drug and prostitution ring and will pursue extradition to face South Carolina murder charges.
