The South Carolina Department of Transportation will close the two lane timber pile bridge over the South Fork Edisto River on Monday for eight days of routine repairs. The 1958 structure is listed as structurally deficient. New pilings will be inserted and an eight mile detour will be marked. The bridge carries about 3,200 vehicles daily.
