Clues are scarce in the death of a woman stabbed and burned in a duffle bag. A clay head model by SLED foren sic artist Lt Roy Paschal and USC anthropology professor Ted Rathbun aims to spark identification. Sheriff Randy Blackmon says the reconstruction could provide a starting point. The case began Nov 7 when a motorist saw a fire on SC 462. autopsy notes 20 plus stab wounds and a nude torso bound at the wrists. The victim, in her 20s with dark hair, 5 feet 8 inches tall and about 110 pounds, had an enlarged uterus suggesting a recent birth.

Plant Hydrogen Explosion Injures Worker at Valenite Plant
A man suffered second degree burns and nearby residents were briefly evacuated after liquid hydrogen exploded during transfer at the Valenite plant on Route 6. The blast at 7:45 p.m. caused windows to rattle two miles away. evacuations closed before 11 p.m. The injured worker's identity was withheld pending relatives' notification. He received treatment at Oconee Memorial Hospital.
