South Carolina DOT urged to fix potholes and pothole related issues
South Carolina lawmakers grilled DOT on road maintenance on Tuesday urging faster pothole repairs better signage and grass trimming. Agency Director Robert St Onge asked for a larger budget saying an extra 1.5 billion yearly over 20 years is needed to bring roads to good condition while a 1 billion funding potential exists from a new law. Representatives criticized slow responsiveness to legislators and constituents and called for better service even as St Onge defended limited funds and stressed the need for more resources to improve roads and safety.
