Woman dies after husband accidentally hits accelerator in Monetta
Marilynn Kania, 70, of Prosperity, died of multiple body trauma when her husband Richard M. Kania, 83, backed a silver Honda Odyssey into a warehouse at Hartley Enterprises in Monetta while they were visiting to buy pecans. The death was ruled accidental by Aiken County Coroner Tim Carlton.

Public Defender Investigator Arrested On Drug Conspiracy Charges
The chief legal investigator for the Aiken Public Defender's Office, William Walden Hartman, 46, was arrested Friday on charges of furnishing contraband to a prisoner and two counts of conspiracy to distribute Valium and Oxycontin with an inmate at Trenton Correctional Institute. He was booked at Edgefield County Detention Center and released on a 10000 dollar bond. The case stems from a joint SLED and corrections investigation.
