Fire at Congaree Ave home prompts animal rescue report
A fire at 2920 Congaree Avenue prompted a response from Aiken Public Safety around 7 pm Sunday. Fire officials, including Captain Ron Shelley, said no people were in the house and responders saved several animals. The cause remains under investigation.

Sharpton and Edwards were set to visit Columbia Monday for events honoring a federal holiday for slain civil rights leader. In Greenville he preached at three services before joining state NAACP officials for a march and rally at the State House. Robbery suspect sought after store exit in Aiken
A robbery occurred with a suspect described as about five feet six to five feet seven inches tall, wearing a black jacket and orange shirt. He was seen leaving the back of the store. The Aiken Bloodhound team searched the area but the man remains at large.
