Erick Giles a 15 year old Silver Bluff student died after being struck on Hammond Road in Beech Island. The driver Ryan Kelly 33 faces charges of leaving the scene involving death. The death is ruled accidental but charges stand as the investigation continues.

The Aiken County Coroner identified Edgfield resident Drayton Mims, 21, as the person found Thursday behind the Child Advocacy Center on Trolley Line Road. Autopsy shows death by hanging and suicide. Mims had been missing since August 2015. duration of remains unknown.
